I feel that blogs can be very useful in the F2F and much as the online class environment. Blogs are such an easy way to send out information and share information, not only just information but also your thoughts. It is so easy to create a blog that you can set on up for you class only, we live in such a internet based society that information is literally at our finger tips. Why not use it at our disposal, blogging has made it easier to use visual and audio aids.
Blogging is a much more beneficial tool in teach then other mediums; such as e-mailing, letters, textbooks. You can get really creative with blogging by putting links to different sites for lesson and information. You can also put a whole lesson together and post it on your blog and record your lessons so your students can access them. This gets rid of the a lot of the excuses like i was sick that day so i don't know what's going or i didn't know what the homework was or when it was due. Everyone pretty much a access to a computer and internet these days. This is a powerful teaching tool for the online based classroom also the traditional classroom environment.
The biggest challenge is getting your school to allow you to use internet blogging in the classroom. Also the area you area teaching some school districts have more money then others, so it would be hard to get your students access in those areas. I think the biggest challenge is if your school has the technology and getting your school districts to allow it.
